The American company Chevrolet Motor Company was founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William Durant.
The company was originally named the Chevrolet Motor Car Company but changed its name to Chevrolet Motor Company in 1918. Chevrolet has been associated with General Motors since 1918 when General Motors Company purchased a majority stake in the business. It has been owned by General Motors since 1923. Chevrolet's current headquarters are located at 300 Renaissance Center Drive in Detroit, Michigan, United States
